Erin Ostrem Loss successfully defended her dissertation entitled “Metabolism of benzo(a)pyrene by Aspergillus sp. and the implications for human health.” Erin was co-advised by co-advised by Jae-Hyuk Yu. We wish her the best on her upcoming postdoc.

It’s been a busy week! Stephanie Berg and Emma Leverich Trainer both passed their preliminary exams (with flying colors, of course). We celebrated with the traditional jump into Lake Mendota.
